Beijing Olympics Closing Ceremony

DD Sports is perhaps the only television channel that will telecast live the Closing Ceremony of the Beijing Olympics, 2008. The live telecast of the Olympic Closing Ceremony will begin at 5:30 pm IST. If so far you have been able to digest whatever DD Sports has been offering for public consumption, then perhaps the Olympics Closing Ceremony would interest you?

Himanshu Dhawan and Biju Babu Cyriac wrote an interesting article in today's Times of India that highlights Doordarshan's shortcomings as far as live coverage of the Olympics is concerned. The journalists claim that prior to the beginning of the repachage round, the DD comentator introduced Sushil Kumar as the Bronze medal winner! Well, Himanshu and Biju, give that commentator a break and let's seek his opinion on how we'll fare in the next Olympics. The DD commentator can make a great soothsayer. Haha!!

Tune in to DD Sports at 5:30 pm to watch the Closing Ceremony of Beijing Olympics, 2008.

I am a regular visitor on your blog. I have read all of your entries so far and in fact, looking forward to read more of you. It is a sheer pleasure to see you write on topics as diverse as and ranging from journalism and film legends to sports. I am impressed with your writing style and the fluidity it has. And, I must mention that what adds to the beauty of your writing is the knowledge you possess on the subject. However, there is one thing I have started wondering about of late. Initially, it seemed, you are sharing nitty-gritties of journalism, in particular, with all the aspiring journos out there. But now, I am bit confused since these days you are not sharing so much of your class experiences and lectures, and talking about other topics at length.

To answer your question, initially my plan was to talk about the classroom lectures on journalism. But I had also planned to start writing about the Indian media and about important events that interest a wider segment of the internet browsers. I haven't given up writing on the "nitty-gritties of journalism". All my blog entries, in one way or another, is related to journalism. I hope that answers your query:-)
